2024 Lincoln sp 125 plus problems

Screwing around with this machine and trying to teach myself to weld - a friend is selling to me over time for $300 which seemed like a good deal.... any way I started to use it and it was working just fine and the wire stopped feeding and some of the wire got tangled on the spool.It doesn't matter whether you measure amps or volts because it' the watts (power) that make heat. I have a used lincoln sp-125 hd. I bought this for a upcomming thin-wall exhaust project. Thought id get in some practice for a while before i attempt the actual thing. By the way the 125 is pretty dam powerful. That is a problem with 120 volt welders. 1) see can change the welder to 240 volt some Lincoln welder can be changed. 2) I fix by buying a 240 volt welder. 3) cheat use a 30 amp breaker some will use the dryer breaker in the garage. It usually feeds OK but every once in a while it will go in fits and starts. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two. .
