The 2003 Tiburons (Specially made before April 1st 2002) had a pretty terrible finish on them. The paint used was also fairly chintzy. Granted I am missing paint on my driver and passenger door jams (at the bottom) there is zero rust on my car what so ever.Ticking shouldn't really occur but as long as it doesn't start knocking or thudding you shouldn't have to worry about something serious like a rod.
