I recommended the use for a network, protect, and access build out at our 12 person small business ...I currently have 6 G5 bullet, G5 Pro, and a AI pro deployed at my house. I have a 900' driveway and use the AI Pro and G5 pro to monitor cars entering the driveway. I use the G5 bullets currently on the eaves to cover the house and they work perfect for that. Standard G5 are cheap enough ( in comparison) to buy one and see how it fits your needs.The best integration I've found on home assistant is Wyze. You get the starter pack for $20, I now have my lights turn on with motion, and use two door sensors on closets to turn the lights on and off when the door opens and closes. Additional sensors are like $4-6 each. Correct, for security I use abode.Ubiquiti is for people that have a lot of money to throw and looking for easier application, but ultimately they are getting locked into their eco-system, just like Apple does. Also a separate Java installation, as in going to their site, downloading it, and installing it. The Unifi Server software comes with all the Java stuff you need. If you disable auto update on your controller and pay attention to the release threads in the UniFi forums and only update when it's safe you'll be very happy. I ended up using a few switches I had and PFSense VM’s.The speed test is conducted by the USG or UDM using the WAN interface. If you ssh to certain types of equipment you will be able to run something like iPerf3. This will allow you to test internal speeds to a degree. Speedtests should be used to gauge a rough estimate of network performance. The unifi speedtest is testing the WAN only..
